Gulf Coast Home Education Conference (2010) - Once again, the Used Book Sale will be held this year on the Thursday, June 3, 2010, before conference as we have in previous years.

Our book sale will be located in the McNair Hall on the Houston Baptist University's campus.

  • Set up will begin at 9 am and the book sale will run from 10-noon.
  • The cost is $5 for sellers and $2 for shoppers.

The new location is smaller than our previous facility. Therefore, some new restrictions must be enforced.

  • Please limit table size for each seller to either a single four foot or standard card table.
  • Do not bring wagons and large strollers. Please use umbrella strollers only.
  • We will strictly enforce the rule requiring all children "Must Stay With Their Parents" at all times. If at all possible please leave small children at home.
  • In the McNair facility, you will find the beautiful Dunham Bible Museum with very nice glass display windows. Only properly supervised children will be admitted. Also, admission costs to this museum are not included in the conference prices.

Thank you for your understanding regarding these regulations. They are necessary to ensure we have the opportunity to return again next year.

McNair Hall is located in the Morris Cultural Arts Center (MCAC) complex. We will be in the large open foyer.

The best way to reach McNair is to take Hwy 59, south from downtown to just past the I-610 loop, then exit at Fondren. Follow the HBU signs. When you get to the campus, take the second entrance to the complex which is just past the main entrance. Come down the drive about 2/3 of the way and you will see Belin Chapel (on your right hand side) which is part of the Morris Cultural Arts Center.

There is a small parking lot on the left of the entrance drive and another larger parking lot just behind the center.

Be sure to use the interactive map of the campus.

Several local area support groups will also have scheduled sales. We applaud each of you for providing this ministry to homeschoolers. Our Calendar and our Activities pages provide information regarding each of the ones for which we've received information. Please watch for a sale in your area! However, be advised that the rules governing each are left to their separate sponsors.

Please let us know if your group is holding a used book sale so that we can let the rest of the community know of the event. Email us at publisher@sethsa.org with the event information.

During conference, be sure to visit our The Homeschool Store exhibitor's booths! They have each agreed to stock a selection of used curricula from which you may find the perfect bargain.

Also, we are more than happy to list your curriculum for sale in the Classified Ads section on our website. Email us the list, including prices, material condition, & your area of town, to staff@sethsa.org and we will post it for 30 days. If you would like us to extend the list, you may email us again as the deadline approaches.
